Letter from Our Board President
On behalf of the Board of Directors for Harambee Neighborhood Improvement District #7, we are honored to have been elected to serve this esteemed neighborhood. Our NID's unwavering commitment is to empower our community by administering special assessment funds through yearly home repair grants and reinvesting these dollars in projects that benefit our neighbors.
While we honor the NID's ongoing commitment to our community, particularly through the core Home Repair Grant program, our vision for this year is to transform and enhance our operational framework and strengthen our connection with every resident. We will implement key improvements, including a more accessible Home Repair Program workflow, robust onboarding for our team, and a dynamic online presence, all aimed at fostering a more informed and empowered Harambee.
Harambee's exciting growth, with new buildings and homes emerging, positions us as a leading community in Milwaukee. As a resident-driven initiative, the NID's strength and ability to enhance our neighborhood will directly depend on your active participation. We warmly invite your ideas and involvement in our open board meetings and NID events. Throughout these exciting times, we want to actively cultivate resident empowerment through information and opportunities to get involved and be heard. We aim to bring our "All Pull Together" spirit to life in all our endeavors.
Thank you for your trust, input, and continued investment in Harambee. I encourage all residents to stay engaged, join us at meetings, and help steer this work—your vision and voice remain our most valuable guides.
Sincerely,
Lakesha Wilder, Chairperson
Harambee Neighborhood Improvement District #7
