The Harambee NID has stopped accepting home repair grant applications for 2025.

Grant Overview
The Harambee NID Home Repair Grant provides funds for materials and labor to complete much needed critical system home repairs such as:

Roof repair or replacement (Repairs based on NEED require a separate application).

Porch repair or replacement - Permit required.

Code Compliance issues and necessary repairs as identified by a Department of Neighborhood Services (DNS) Building Inspector.

Health and Safety Repairs– Air conditioning requires prescription from doctor.

Water Efficiency Improvement.

Exterior Painting
-
Security improvements, e.g.; door bells with cameras, lighting, fencing, and security hardware

Other Critical Repairs as Determined by the Board
Eligibility Criteria

The property must be located within the HNID boundaries

The property must be occupied by the owner
-
The property must NOT be in receivership, vacant, unoccupied or pending condemnation.

The homeowner must provide proof of identity, ownership and residence.

The homeowner must be current on all property taxes and special assessments.

The homeowner must NOT have previously receiving funds through the HNID in the previous five (5) years. (Priority is given to first time applicants)
